The Meatpacking District is an old industrial area in the Far West Village that has transformed into a neighborhood for dining, shopping, art galleries, night spots, and cutting edge hotels. There were originally over 100 meatpacking facilities serving restaurants and food shops throughout NYC and now there are only 15.

The Meatpacking District is now the location of many of the City’s most stylish and exotic eateries

Some of the City’s swankiest nightclubs are also in the cobble-stoned Meatpacking District.

Chelsea Market is an enormous Wholesale/Retail Food complex that takes up an entire city block. In 1898 it was the original Nabisco Bakery where the Oreo Cookie was created. It now houses 12 of New York City's finest specialty food shops. You will learn about its history, view original artwork and granite sculptors from local New York artists, and learn how it became the ultimate indoor food shopping destination.

Your walking tour will also include a short stroll on the new High Line elevated park, a popular new park built atop an abandoned railway viaduct that runs along the Hudson River.

Dinner at Wolfgang’s Steakhouse in Tribeca:  Excellent steakhouse owned by the former head chef of Peter Luger.  Frequented by celebrities, locals and tourists – one of Donald Trump’s favorite restaurants.
